Frequently Asked Questions

How fit do I need to be for a Himalayan trek?
Fitness requirements vary by trek. Easy treks like Ghorepani Poon Hill require basic fitness — if you can walk 5-6 hours a day, you're ready. Moderate treks like Everest Base Camp need good cardiovascular fitness. We recommend starting a training program 2-3 months before your trek, focusing on cardio, hiking with a loaded backpack, and stair climbing.
What is the best time to trek in Nepal?
The best trekking seasons are spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November). Autumn offers clear skies and stable weather — the most popular season. Spring brings wildflowers and slightly warmer temperatures. Winter treks are possible at lower elevations, while monsoon season (June-August) is generally avoided due to rain and leeches.
What does the trek price include?
Our prices typically include: airport transfers, permits and national park fees, experienced English-speaking guide, porters (1 porter per 2 trekkers), teahouse accommodation, all meals on the trek, first aid kit, and government taxes. International flights, travel insurance, personal gear, and tips are usually not included.
Do I need travel insurance for trekking?
Yes, comprehensive travel insurance with emergency helicopter evacuation coverage is mandatory for all our treks. The policy must cover trekking at altitude (up to 6,000m for most treks). We can recommend trusted insurance providers. Without valid insurance, we cannot allow you to start the trek.
What about altitude sickness?
Altitude sickness (AMS) is a real concern above 3,000m. Our itineraries are designed with proper acclimatization days built in. Our guides are trained in altitude sickness recognition and carry oximeters and first aid supplies. We follow a strict 'climb high, sleep low' policy and will never push you to continue if symptoms appear.
